Emotional Transition
Well, we are down to the last steps on getting the house ready. Garage sale items ready to go on to their new homes. Professional cleaners and photographers are the final steps before putting our home on the market. It has been interesting, to say the least. The process began in February with tears and fears. After months of selling, de-cluttering and staging our home and weekends of no relaxation I can say truthfully, “Let’s get this over with”.
I compare this to the grieving stages. In the beginning, your world is ending and after going through each stage you come out knowing everything will be alright. You never forget, and at times the memories are strong but somehow you know you are in a better place. The last stage for us will be handing the keys over to new owners and entering our 5th wheel, not as a weekend gig but our new full time home.
I didn’t think I would ever say this, but, I am ready. My husband was ready a year ago. I ask the powers that be for a good sale which will elongate the time spent on the road visiting the many places on our wish list. When all is said and done, I will finally settle in a comfy chair with a hot cup of coffee overlooking the peaceful calling of the lake.
