Belle Starr COE Campground – Eufaula, OK

Some trips are all sunshine and epic adventures; others, well, are not. Our latest stop was a perfect example. We pulled into our COE campground, and it did not disappoint. Our site was directly across from the lake, offering a perfect, uninterrupted view of the water. This was our happy place, and we were ready to soak it all in.

Unfortunately, our perfect view only lasted one night. The rest of our time was a non-stop downpour. The rain was relentless, and honestly, the only silver lining was that I got sick. I spent most of the time in bed, so at least I didn’t feel like I was missing out on much. We decided to spare you the video footage of the torrential rain—trust us, it was a lot of gray and a lot of water.

Sometimes, travel isn’t about grand adventures. It’s about embracing the quiet moments, even when they’re not what you planned. While I was curled up under a blanket, Mitch used the downtime to catch up on editing videos. We’re hoping the rain will finally let up as we head to Arkansas to visit family.
